For our final project we decided to remake the scene below from the
movie My Neighbor Totoro. We modeled the signpost, Totoro, the umbrella,
the leaf on Totoro's head, and some rocks.
The signpost is comprised of several glut objects. Its material is silver and has texture mapping on the circular sign as well as one a quad for the bus schedule.
Totoro is made up of several glut objects. The arms are made out of bezier curves. He has texture mapping on his belly.
The umbrella is made out of a triangle fan and a cube for the pole. The umbrella can take in two colors, but for the purpose of this project they were set to the same color.
The leaf is a bezier surface comprised of 24 points.
The rocks are comprised of 5 spheres.
The rain is made out of twCylinders which have narrower tops than bottoms. We created a random array of points above the scene and randomly choose 10 points for each frame to fall.
We have a spotlight to imitate the streetlight in the scene.
Our background is a texture mapped quad of a forest.
